Saint Mary's University in Juba (SMUJ) is a university in South Sudan.

Location

The university is located in the city of Juba, in Juba County, Central Equatoria State, in southern South Sudan. The city of Juba is the capital of South Sudan and is the largest city in that country.

History

SMUJ was founded in 2009, as a collaborative effort betwee the South Sudanese Ministry of Gender, Social Welfare and Religious Affairs and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Juba. Enrollment is open to all eligible citizens of South Sudan. The Vice Chancellor of the university is Paulino Lukudu Loro, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Juba.[1]

The university opened with five (5) faculties, namely:[2]

  4. Faculty of Science
  5. Faculty of Computer Studies
